KV Anand's political thriller Ko that is running to packed houses is one of the most sought after projects in the remake circuit.
Chennai Times indicated earlier that Mumbai producers were willing to pay as much as Rs 1 cr for the remake rights.
Now, one hears that the top bidder is Bollywood's action king Akshay Kumar.
While trade sources refuse to confirm at what stage the negotiations stand, we hear the Khiladi, who shares a good rapport with K V Anand, has expressed a desire to play the role of photojournalist that shot Jiiva to instant fame.
Says a leading trade analyst, Akshay is a savvy producer. When he realised how well Ko has done and how it proved to be a turning point in Jiiva's career, he apparently sent forward a proposal to buy the remake rights through one of his key people.
