March 05, 2012, (Sawf News) - Vidya Balan looked elegant and effervescent in a white Sabyasachi sari at the Lavasa Women's Drive Awards 2012 at Hotel Intercontinental The Lalit in Mumbai on Sunday, March 4. Vidya, 34, was felicitated with a Lavasa Women’s Drive – Women in the Driving Seat Award for her achievement in the world of cinema. Anil Kapoor presented the award to her.

Vidya's pure khadi sari had a rich black and golden patti border with fringed sequin detail. She paired it with a black blouse that featured a scoop neckline, elbow length sleeves with golden embellishments on cuffs. She accessorized with golden bangles that complimented the border of her sari and colorful stone studded drop earrings.

Her side swept hair, styled in loose waves, draped her right shoulder. Her smoky eye makeup brought focus to her beautiful shining eyes and echoed the black colors of her blouse and sari border. She rounded her look with glistening pink lipstick, maroon bindi and swipe of peach blush. Talking to the press about her recent roles in woman centric films, Vidya said "Mardo ka zamana raha hai aurto ne aakar aafat kar di hai."

Hosted by singer and TV actor Meiyang Chang, the event honored women drivers who had won during an all women car rally held in Pune in end February. The initiative is a collaboration between Times Of India and Lavasa to raise awareness among women for cervical cancer. Sophie Choudhary performed to Vidya Balan's Ooh La Laa, Ek Pardesi, Senorita and to one of Ali Zafar's live song.

Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Ali Zafar came out to cheer for the women and presented the awards for the evening. Vidya's The Dirty Picture producer, Ekta Kapoor was one of the winners at the Awards for her achievements in Television.
