Amy Jackson painted a perfect picture of fusion as the British model sashayed down the Lakme Fashion Week in a sari-cum-lehenga, feeling like a "princess". "It`s my debut at Lakme Fashion Week. I had butterflies in my stomach before walking the ramp. I was a little nervous but once I walked the ramp, I felt like a princess," Amy, who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’, said.
She walked for designer Bhairavi Jaikishan here Saturday. Jaikishan`s collection was a colourful bridal range embellished with sequins and crystals. They also had prominent use of gold and silver zari embroidery. Describing Amy`s attire, the designer said: "It`s a blend of a lehenga and a sari. The bottom of the attire is cut like a lehenga, but it`s a sari."
The actress looked extremely comfortable in the attire. "It wasn`t very heavy. Though it looks heavy because of the detailing in the embroidery. It`s very light weight and comfortable as well," Amy said. The designer was happy with her showstopper.
"Amy is a beautiful girl. She carries of an Indian dress so beautifully. She has got grace and she represents the woman that I design for," said Jaikishan. The designer showcased a traditional collection of saris emphasising more on light shades including pista green, pink, blue and yellow. Her fashion line was called Sensuous Woman. "My main aim in designing the clothes are that whenever people wear my clothes, they should feel like a princess and that`s my philosophy in designs," she said.
