Freida Pinto: I’m too timid for BollywoodFreida Pinto says she is too “timid” to do Bollywood movies. The actress revealed that while she is keen to star in Indian films, she doesn’t think she has the right personality for the Bollywood industry. The brunette beauty added that she prefers to star in edgy, rough dramas rather than all-singing, all-dancing romantic comedies.

"I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking for films in Indian cinema, but the genre I was looking for was different. Very based in reality, very gritty, almost devoid of glitz and glamour. That kind of cinema really gets me," she told British newspaper The Guardian. "But I wouldn't rule out Bollywood one bit. I'm just not sure I could fit the bill. I feel like it's a completely different ball game, being able to be so … I don't know, larger than life. I feel … timid."

Meanwhile, Freida has revealed why she enjoys working with British filmmakers. The 27-year-old has been directed by UK movie legends in Slumdog Millionaire, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and her new film Trisha. “It’s amazing working with British directors. I’ve worked with three so far – Danny [Boyle], Rupert [Wyatt] and Michael [Winterbottom]. They’ve got a certain ease in the way they work, but at the same time, they’re so sure of what they want, you feel very confident in them,” she told the April issue of Esquire.
