Delhi Belly's director Abhinay Deo who earlier directed the film Game for Farhan Khan's production house Excel Entertainment, is set to work with Akhtar for an untitled film about two friends. However, Akhtar, who has agreed to star as the lead in the film wants the film to be made under his banner.
According to sources, Deo has similar plans, wanting to use the film to kick-start his production house, Ramesh Deo Productions, named after his father, the actor Ramesh Deo. The source said, "It's a story about two friends, with lots of comic moments, music and adventure that is set in various cities across the globe. When Abhinay narrated the idea, Farhan loved it. He will star in this film after he finishes shooting for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag."
Interestingly, if this film is made under Deo's banner, it will be Akhtar's second film outside his production house. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Viacom 18 are producing Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. While Abhinay Deo refrained to comment, when contacted, Farhan said, "Excel will work with Abhinay Deo as producers. However, no decision regarding the cast has been made."
