Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been booked for allegedly assaulting a man after a heated argument with him at a Japanese restaurant in south Mumbai, police said. The victim Iqbal Sharma approached cops on Tuesday night claiming that he was attacked by Saif and his friends, during which, he was punched by the actor, senior PI of Colaba police station Vinod Sawant said, adding that the 41-year-old actor is likely to be arrested.
The victim claimed that he was having dinner with his family members in Wasabi restaurant in Colaba last night, while the actor and his friends were sitting at the next table, police said. Sharma stated that he had objected to the loud talks by Saif and his friends. When he pointed it out to them, the actor and his friends got enraged, and, following a heated argument, attacked him.
The actor and his friends have been booked under IPC 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). Saif will next be seen in home production Agent Vinod with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. The film will release on March 23.
