The cyberworld has been abuzz since Saturday with the news of an apparent split between actor Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle. The news went viral when it was reported that all wasn’t well between the couple as they have been spotted attending events solo. The two, who tied the knot in 2001, have a son, Aarav.

The news of acrimony between the two comes as a surprise to many as Akshay had posted a Valentine Day message on Twitter saying:  “Happy Slavery Day to all devoted men! If we can’t appreciate the woman we love on Valentine’s Day then we don’t deserve them. So be a man and pamper your lady just like me.”

Though no reason has been attributed for the couple apparently heading for a split, the news went viral when Twinkle apparently arrived solo for a magazine cover launch that was shot with the couple. Adding fodder to the stories, apparently is the fact that the duo, known to make appearance together in public, have of late been making solo appearances.

A source close to Akshay, however, rubbishes the story. “It’s all nonsense. It is very surprising because on Valentine’s Day, he spent the day pampering Twinkle. We have no idea who’s spreading these rumours. Akshay and Twinkle are quite transparent with each other. He is a dedicated husband and a true family man. Everything is fine between the two,” said the source. Akshay was unreachable, but his spokesperson said, “There is absolutely no truth to the story. In fact, presently Akshay is spending time with his family. It is all rubbish.”
