Almost all the Bollywood producers claim to have the knack of recognising the 'real' talent but quite often they make fatal mistakes in casting non-compatible actors opposite each other. Here are the most awkward on-screen pairs which do not bring out the chemistry between the romantic leads.
1. Tusshar Kapoor-Esha Deol: Who would have thought that Esha Deol will end up in becoming a second grade heroine after she achieved Filmfare Best Debut award for 'Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche'. She has been paired against Tusshar Kapoor in many films including 'Kya Dil Ne Kaha', 'Kuch Toh Hai', 'Chura Liya Hai Tumne', and 'One, Two, Three' but the pair never clicked at the box office.
2. Shahid Kapoor-Vidya Balan: It's not been a long time when Vidya Balan used to be criticised for her weird dressing sense, and Shahid Kapoor's identity was of Kareena Kapoor's boyfriend. Both were paired rather pitched against each other in 'Kismat Konnection'. They never looked like hero-heroine, in fact their on-screen chemistry was more of a preacher-student than fellow actors.
3. Bipasha Basu-Ajay Devgn: Just imagine Bipasha Basu struggling to speak Hindi in a regional dialect, that too with a serious actor like Ajay Devgn. Yes, we are talking about Prakash Jha's film 'Apaharan', where she had played a medical student from Bihar. Not many could relate to Bipasha’s character despite 'Apharan' being a box office success.
4. Sanjay Dutt-Kajol: Tanuja Chandra's 'Dushman' received accolades from critics but the lead pair didn't appear great on the screen. The age difference between the two was quite apparent in each and every scene. 5. Bobby Deol-Any heroine: Recall Bobby's films from 'Barsaat' and 'Gupt' to 'Yamala Pagla Deewana' and 'Thank You', they either work due to Bobby or the heroine or due to some other factor, but never because of the chemistry between Bobby Deol and his heroine. However, the Punjabi lad has enjoyed the company of some of the most beautiful women of the Hindi film industry.
