For the past two weeks, Imran Khan has been plugged into his iPod. No, he’s not listening to music, but Haryanvi dialogue.
Vishal Bhardwaj, who’s directing the actor in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, is keen that Imran get the dialect and accent right. And to make it easier for the star, he has got the dialogue recorded by a local Jat and passed it on to him.
Imran“Even when he was busy with the promotions of Ekk Main Aur Ek Tu, Imran was listening to the recordings,” says a team member.
He has started shooting for Vishal’s film, that co-stars Anushka Sharma, and still listens to the recording between shots. Apparently, they are helping him become the character from the hinterlands.
Imran confirms the news, “I was roaming around with an iPod during the Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu promotions across India. It feels weird sometimes,” he says, adding, “But since we had planned to start shooting for Vishal sir’s film immediately after the release last week, I had no choice. I haven’t even been able to enjoy the compliments for my work, and I’m already back on sets to shoot.”
