Superstar Amitabh Bachchan will undergo an abdominal surgery on Saturday at the Seven Hills hospital in suburban Andheri. On February 9, Bachchan disclosed that he would go under the knife on his blog. The actor had said he would get a CT scan done on Friday, but did not reveal which hospital he would undergo treatment.

“Ok in hospital and ready to get some investigations, before they allow me to sleep,” Bachchan wrote on his blog. “The surgery they say is not too complicated,” he wrote. It was in Seven Hills hospital his daughter-in-law, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered a baby girl last year.

He had suffered a near fatal intestinal injury while filming a fight scene in 1982 movie ‘Coolie’ following which he remained in hospital for months. “My stomach which has already been the bed of many complicated battles in the past, shall have to entertain this as well,” Bachchan said.

“I wish to thank all those that have most graciously sent in their concern and greetings for a speedy recovery. Your prayers shall go a long way in bringing me back to normal and for this I am always eternally grateful,” he wrote. Superstar Shahrukh Khan wished him a speedy recovery. “@SrBachchan sir wish you the best. jaldi hi theek thaak hokar aap aa jayein (get well soon)...my prayers and love to you sir...and a big hug... Nasrun minal lahe wah fatahun kareeb (sic),” Shahrukh tweeted.
