Sania Mirza of India scored a 6-4, 7-5 win in a 99-minute duel over Anne Keothavong, the British No. 2 player, to enter the women’s singles quarter-final of the Pattaya Open tennis championship on Thursday, according to information received here. It may be recalled here that Sania surprised World No. 64 Ayumi Morita of Japan in the women's singles first round here.
The Indian tennis star continued her recent, impressive form in the international circuit when she partnered Austrian Anastasia Rodionova to defeat local pair of Varatchya Wongteanchai and Varunya Wongteanchai 6-4, 6-3 in 57 minutes to enter the women’s doubles semi-final. On Wednesday night, Sania and her partner defeated Séverine Brémond and Gala Leon Garcia 6-0, 6-2.
