Actor Asin has shot back at Shootout At Wadala director Sanjay Gupta, who said she was “delusional” in claiming that she was approached for the film before actor Kangna Ranaut. “I really don’t want to be dragged into Mr Gupta’s random publicity stunts.

It is weird why he should lie or be in denial ... the truth is that I had been approached for the film by Swati Shetty of Balaji Motion Pictures (the producers of the film) and I have many proofs of it,” says the 26-year-old.

The actor says that she refused the film for personal reasons. “I have my reasons for not doing it. Beyond that, I have nothing to say as I’m least interested in being a part of some PR stunt by Mr Gupta for his movie or for himself. It is a fact that I was approached and Sanjay should get his facts right before speaking. I am very upset about this (his comments).

In a recent interview, Gupta had said that Asin was never approached for the film and he was surprised at reports that she had refused the film. “I think either she or her manager is delusional. She was never in running for the film. Neither Ekta nor I spoke to her about the film,” he had said.
