There's much jubilation in the actress' camp over Deepika Padukone cornering the part opposite Rajnikanth in his daughter Soundarya’s film Kochadaiyyan. But the fact is, Katrina is getting the more prominent piece of the Rajni cake…and that's what she and the producers have agreed to.
 
Confirming the news to Businessofcinema.com Dr. Murli Manohar, "Yes, that's the plan right now. We'll be getting Katrina on board for Rana. But it's not as if Rajniji needs time to recover before he starts Rana. He's fully recovered and raring to restart Rana.
 
As she sang in her Chikni chameli track Yeh to trailer hai poori picture dikhane ayee. That's exactly what she'll  be doing early 2013 when Rajnikanth's big film Rana is launched. Katrina will play the lead in it. We decided to do this other film not because he wanted to do a smaller film but because we wanted to make sure he was comfortable. There are three songs and some scenes to be shot with Deepika."
