Amy Jackson defends the love song ‘Hosanna’

The term ‘Hosanna’ is sacred to both Christians and Jews alike. It is a prayer from the Bible and seeing it transformed into a love song filmed on Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson in Ek Deewana Tha did raise a few hackles. But Amy Jackson, who is herself a Christian, says there is no intention to hurt anyone’s feelings.

“I am a Christian and since the age of five I have been singing...chanting hymns containing the word 'Hosanna'. When I heard the song for the first time, it literally touched my heart. It is a beautiful song. It is about love and who can ask for more than love. I never felt that the song would hurt people's sentiments,” says Amy Jackson in defence of the song.

“If you look from my point of view that's what Christians strive for love from God. And that is what the song is about,” said Amy who is presently said to be in love with her co-star Prateik Babbar. In the movie Ek Deewana Tha as well, Amy Jackson plays a Malayali Christian named Jessie. Meanwhile, do check out the song ‘Hosanna’ below and if there is anything objectionable in it:
