After the tension following the high-profile fight between actor Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Shirish Kunder, it was time to celebrate for B-towners at actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s sangeet ceremony on Tuesday night. The function, at a five-star hotel in Bandra, had most of Bollywood’s A-listers in attendance. From Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar, Sussanne Roshan, Arjun Rampal-Mehr Jesia, Shahid Kapoor to Abhishek Bachchan —  the who’s who of Bollywood gathered for the ceremony. The guest list also included Soha Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Asin Thottumkal, Sonali Bendre, Dia Mirza,

Sikandar, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Bobby Deol,  Shreyas Talpade, Priyadarshan, Milan Luthria and Aftab Shivdasani. Genelia looked resplendent in a white lehenga with peach embellishments with beau, Riteish complementing her attire in a deep blue sherwani.  Onlookers at the sangeet said that the duo looked like love-birds, constantly whispering in each other’s ears, giggling and laughing throughout the evening.

The entire ceremony was planned and executed by Karan Johar who took the responsibility. Actor Jackky Bhagnani performed a special act for the couple.  An insider reveals, “Jackky’s sister is all set to tie the knot with Riteish’s brother and joined in the celebrations from Riteish’s side. Karan too shook a leg with the couple,  who danced to a special number. The rest of the performances were by close friends and family members of the couple who are not from the industry.”

Actor Shah Rukh Khan was the last person to make an entry to congratulate the couple. The superstar walked into the venue at around 4 am while Riteish and Genelia waited to have dinner with him. Shah Rukh, who’d just made up with Shirish, was emotional as he tweeted about it. He posted, “Long satisfying day... shoot with prabhuda..dinner with ritesh & genelia at 5am. Best was to meet friends at home again.”
