The original Agneepath, released in 1990, itself is a cult movie in Hindi cinema even though it may have flopped at the time when it was released. The new remake, starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor, has hit the bull’s eye at box office. The filmmakers down south are now learnt to be vying to buy the film’s remake rights from producer Karan Johar.

Buzz is that Karan Johar’s office has been getting a lot of calls from the directors who want to remake Agneepath in the south. However, Karan Johar hasn’t taken the call on who to sell the remake rights to.

Since Agneepath is a film close to his heart, Karan Johar wants to make sure that the remake rights are given to the most competent filmmaker. It would be interesting to know who will play the iconic character Vijay Dinanath Chauhan down south. Any guesses?
