He has already worked with Aamir Khan in Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Shah Rukh Khan in the Don series. And while filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar is yet to team up with Salman Khan, he reveals that they’ve been discussing a possible collaboration.
“We’ve been meeting each other and exchanging ideas for a while, so there will be a story soon that will work for both of us,” he says. Farhan adds with a laugh, “I remember a report that came out some time ago about how I met Salman many times, but he rejected all the offers, which is also true.”
Farhan AkhtarThe Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) actor has known the Dabangg (2010) star since they were kids, thanks to their fathers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, who were one of Bollywood’s most celebrated script-writing teams, with films like Sholay (1975) and Deewar (1975) to their credit.
Despite their fathers’ equation turning sour, Farhan has stated in the past that he and Salman are “really good friends.” “And he (Salman) is a very talented guy. He has been really supportive and caring towards (sister) Zoya and me,” says Farhan, who was also spotted at Khan’s private birthday party last year. Ask whether he sees himself making a typical Salman action flick like Bodyguard (2011), and he says, “No, I can’t make those films. To me, Don is a larger-than-life film, though it has a different style as compared to those movies.”
