Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar will be singing the title track of the film, which marks the debut of her sister, singer Asha Bhonsle as an actor and Asha’s grand-daughter as a playback singer. It is apparently also going to be her last track for a film. Asha confirmed that her elder sister will be singing the title track of her debut film. “Lata didi has agreed to sing the title track of my film, Maee and I am very happy,” said Asha. Sources say that the title track , which is ready, is yet to be recorded. “The title track is yet to be recorded and will be scheduled as per Lataji’s availability. The song has been composed by (music composer) Nitin Shankar,” says a source. With health concerns mounting with age, Lata has steadily distanced herself from playback singing. Her staff has been declining the dozens of playback singing offers that keep pouring in. But the singer apparently does not want to record too many songs now. “My back is giving me some trouble, but I am fine. I don’t work as much as I used to. I am happy that people still love me the way they used to. I am grateful to them,” Lata (81) told After Hrs recently.
