This could be termed as the biggest casting coup of the year. Filmmaker Puri Jagannath is all set to bring the two giants of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth, together for a film. The director who has worked with Big B in ‘Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap’, met the southern superstar recently in Chennai to talk about the project.
Rajini, who is busy with daughter Saundarya’s film has shown interest in the project and agreed to do the film. Confirming the news to a daily, the director said, “Yes, I met Rajini Sir in Chennai. I`ve wanted to work with him for the longest time. So far I hadn`t dared to approach him because I could not think of a role that would do him justice. It`s been my life-long dream to direct Amitji and Rajini Sir."
So is he nervous about handling two big stars in his film? "It`s a challenge that I would like to take on. Let`s see how it goes,” said the director. Although, the two superstars and their families are known to be quite close to each other, the actors haven’t done too many films together. Their last outing on silver screen was in 1991 in ‘Hum’ and ever since then, their fans have been eagerly waiting to see the two stalwarts of Indian cinema to do a film together. And by the looks of it, the wait is soon going to be over!
