Akshay Kumar’s upcoming 3D film ‘Joker’ is not a comedy! What’s in a name? If you thought that Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Joker is an out-and-out comedy, because of its title, then you are wrong. Director Shirish Kunder clears it out for you, saying that his much ambitious 3D project ‘Joker’ is not a comedy film unlike what the title and production stills suggest.

But Joker that stars a bunch of good actors and also Sonakshi Sinha is not without its fun moments. Shirish Kunder recently posted on Twitter, “Joker has some humour but it’s not a comedy. Maybe because of the word ‘Joker’, it is presumed as a comedy. But even ‘Mera Naam Joker’ was not a comedy.”

When the first set of production stills of the film Joker started doing the rounds of the internet, it was obvious that the film is going to be a comedy. But after Shirish’s confirmation we know that the movie is not a laugh riot. Then, what could we expect from Joker, if not comedy!

Earlier there were rumours that the film is inspired from the 2010 Hollywood film Alice in Wonderland, but Shirish Kunder denied it, saying that the only thing common between both the projects is the fantasy factor.

Now you got it, Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Joker is a fantasy film with a smattering of humour. We hope it’s going to be different! Joker is being jointly produced by Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan’s Three’s Company and Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om Entertainment Co. The film is set for a late 2012 release.
