Her high-profile break up with former beau, actor John Abraham hasn’t put a brake on her career graph. B-Town’s dusky babe Bipasha Basu is, in fact, on a roll these days. Besides being popular for her svelte bod and exotic looks, the actress’s unique name — Bipasha — has also always drawn enough interest.

She’s now got a song with her name in it and Bips is excited. She says, “Firstly, I have always been super kicked about the fact that my name is so uncommon. My parents named me ‘Bipasha’, which means ‘deep, dark desire’. And I have always loved the fact that it is so meaningful! I have refused to use my real name onscreen a lot of times, as I didn’t want it to become regular name like ‘Priyanka’, for instance.

On the sets when I call Priyanka, four-five people, like my stylist, production member etc, all respond and I am like ‘Girls, why don’t you get a name!” She adds that earlier too, there had been offers of songs on my name. “But I wasn’t really sure, but this time the makers of Jodibreakers first made the song and then asked me to hear it once, before refusing.

And believe me, when I heard it , I was like ‘When do we shoot?’”she laughs, adding, “Till now I was called Billo. Now I will be called ‘Bipasha’ forever (laughs). Also, the song does justice not just to my name, but my on-screen image of being sexy and exotic perfectly. My family and friends have already been in love with the song and they’ve decided to make it the ringtone for my calls. Once the song is released, it will just be ‘Bipasha’ all the way!”

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who earlier had a song with her nickname Bebo, had said, “As long as it fits the theme and the story, I’m all for it. But I don’t think it works if it’s forced just to follow a trend or something. But I do agree that it’s fun to dance on such tracks on tours and stage performances.”
