Rajinikanth is ready to start his next project Kochadaiyaan . Kochadaiyaan is an upcoming 3D Tamil film to be directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and is written by K. S. Ravikumar.

The film will feature Rajinikanth in the lead role, while the background score and soundtrack will be composed by A. R. Rahman. The multilingual movie, which was announced a couple of months ago, will reportedly take off on January 19.

It was officially announced that the film will take place with formal pooja on January 19, 2012 at the actor's favourite Pillayar temple located inside the AVM Studios, Vadapalani, Chennai.

The film is expected to be the first Indian 3D film shot with the kind of performance capturing technology used in films such as Avatar and The Adventures of Tintin. Mirugam fame Aadhi has been signed to play an important role in the movie.
