Akshaye Khanna back in action with ‘Gali Gali Chor Hai’Akshaye Khanna is perhaps not as bigger superstar as Shakrukh, Salam and Aamir Khan in Bollywood, but certainly one of the versatile actors in the Indian cinema industry. After being seen in Farah Khan’s "Tees Maar Khan" in which he performed a role of a film actor in 2010, the veteran is once again back to prove his worth.

He will be seen in Rumy Jaffery’s "Gali Gali Chor Hai", the movie based on India’s one of the biggest problems today – corruption. Talking about the main idea of his new flick, Akshaye stated, "Corruption has always been an issue in this country, but our film is less about corruption and more about the system that has plagued our society. No country in the world is free of corruption.

Until we pay our government servants well, we cannot expect them not to make money on the side. It is not greed, but necessity that makes them indulge in corruption." The artist also backed Anna Hazare’s movement to eradicate the menace of corruption from the country.

He insisted that Anna’s movement has played a vital role in making laws against this evil. He said, "What Anna’s movement has done is remind me of the freedom India’s constitution gives to its citizens. One man believes in something and his freedom of speech and expression has got the Parliament’s attention and rocked the government. Whether one
is for or against the bill is irrelevant."

On his character in the picture, Akshaye revealed, "I play a common man, a cashier by profession, who gets trapped in this system. His life turns topsy-turvy because of a small incident, where he stands to lose all that is dear to him – his house, his job, his wife and friends. But the film is peppered with humour."

When asked about his absence from the big screen, he uttered that he is hungry for a lot of movies, and is interested in only quality work. Meanwhile, Akshaye dismissed that notion that he is disappointed over not getting many movies, adding that having family, friends and wealth, he does not lack anything in life.
