Actor Juhi Parmar, quite expectedly, emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 5 on Colors. She beat dancer-actor Mahek Chahal, who was reportedly backed by host Salman Khan. Ask the newly crowned victor who she thought had the highest chances of winning out of the final five contestants, and she says, “I
think Sky (actor Akashdeep Saigal) could have won. He’s brash on the surface, but has a heart of gold. He deserved to win,” says Juhi, minutes after she was declared the winner. “When I went in, I just wanted to start a new chapter in life. I was with my husband and news reports said we had split. People were talking more about my thyroid problem and excess weight than my acting skills. I just had to get over all of that and start afresh. And my wish has been granted.”
The actor had lost 10 kilos before entering the house and has returned from the show having lost another 10 kilos. Juhi now plans to restart her acting and anchoring career, and also produce shows for different channels. “I’ll do a few more reality shows now as a participant and anchor. There are lots of novel concepts being produced for TV, which allow slightly older actors to play central characters. With most of the extra fat gone, I’m sure I can get back to work full throttle now,” she beams, adding, “We had made a capsule for SAB TV but it didn’t work for them. So now, we’ll work on some more ideas and I’m sure our production house will take its first show on floors soon.”
