Actor Bipasha Basu, by her own admission, is a child at heart when it comes to celebrating birthdays. “Yes, I am a kid when it comes to birthdays, I’m that excited. Cakes, balloons, games, lots of dancing, gifts, white lilies all over the house and the works… I love it all,” the Bong hottie, who turns a year older tomorrow reveals excitedly.

“In fact, my birthday’s not over with the day, it lasts for a month. I’m the sort, who won’t mind going around telling people that it’s my birthday and to wish me. I have even threatened my friends that they better throw a surprise birthday party for me,” she laughs.

Planning to make it back from Dubai where she’s attending the premiere of her film Players  in time to celebrate the day tomorrow, the actor reveals that her real indulgence is going to be binging on rice. “I have given up eating rice since the past seven years, so that’s my biggest gift to myself. I will have rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mom will be preparing my favourite Hyderabadi biryani, then there will be fried rice and it will be Thai curry rice for dinner. Also I will have gajar ka halwa. But I go crazy with riceon my birthday. My mom always says ‘I’m still the naughtiest overgrown kid’!” The actor’s also planning to host a special screening of Players for her friends. “Probably we’ll cut a cake there, have popcorn too,” she adds.

The actor reveals that she’s also looking forward to the gifts expected to come her way. “I love getting birthday gifts. It’s not about how expensive they are, but how thoughtful. In fact, being gifted a bouquet of white lilies is what makes me the happiest,” she says. What about her wish list, will love be on it this year? “I already have so, so much love around me, I don’t miss having a man in my life at all. I am not even looking for a boyfriend. I know I keep getting linked up every now and then, but to be honest, I think I am enjoying myself too much to even give that a serious thought. Love will happen when it will, and it will have the sanctity and respect that any relationship deserves too,” she says.

Talking about love, Bipasha adds she’s really excited about her role in her first romcom Jodi Breakers, as it’s the first time that sheplays a character close to her real self. “Like me, my character also strongly believes that it’s better to move on, than to stagnate in a relationship that’s not going anywhere. You need to be in love for the right reasons.” But for now, the actress is only counting down hours to her big day. “This time it’s really special and am waiting to see what the day brings for me,” she smiles.
