At a promotional event, Abhishek said: “Players and Dhoom are two different films - Dhoom was on cops-robbers faceoff and all the main characters in Players are thieves.” Abhishek added: “However, the genre of both the films is the same. Both films are action-thrillers, but director-duo Abbas-Mustan have given a different treatment to Players.”

Abhishek Bachchan then said that though Players is an official remake of The Italian Job, the characters of Bobby Deol and Bipasha Basu were not there in the original film!

And while there were rumours which suggested that the makers of Players were planning a Diwali release but postponed it so as to avoid a clash with Ra.One, Abhishek said that the reason for the delay was extensive filming of action scenes! Well, Abhishek, though we know that Players and Dhoom are two different films, we hope Players Dhoom machaye! Wink.
