Actor Anil Kapoor has cancelled his birthday celebrations on December 24,following the demise of his father, filmmaker Surinder Kapoor on September 24 this year.Actor and daughter Sonam Kapoor andher sister, Rhea will still go ahead and host a ‘simple dinner’ for him.

 

Sonam who recently appreared on a yet-to-be aired reality show called Superstars Santa, revealed the fact that the party has been cancelled. Officials from the show also confirmed Sonam’s statement.

 

“We always celebrate my Dad’s birthday in a big way because his birthday is on 24 December. So we always have a lavish party and that itself turns into a major Christmas celebration for us.

 

But this year we will keep it low with a simple dinner as we lost my grandfather,” Sonam said. According to her, cancelling Anil’s birthday celebrations was a decision taken by Kapoor senior. Sources say that Anil is flying out of the country soon after his birthday for outdoor shoots with Sonam following suit.
