Seems like one 'Chikni Chameli' act is opening much bigger doors for Katrina Kaif when it comes to making an entry into Dharma Productions. Though she hasn't worked in any Karan Johar film so far, Katrina has impressed the filmmaker a lot with her item number in 'Agneepath'. So much so that now there are serious talks of the superstar actress being roped for much bigger assignments.

“She was anyways almost certain for 'Dostana 2' and it's unfortunate that the film hasn't gone on floors yet. In fact it had started seeming that Katrina's attention was entirely diverted towards Yash Raj Films since she is working in multiple films with Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir as her co-stars,” says a trade insider.

“However she is now pretty much in good books of Karan Johar as well, courtesy 'Chikni Chameli' which is fast turning out to be a rage.” Even Katrina is conscious of this fact and this was the reason why she spent as many as 10 days just rehearsing for the 'desi' dance number before hitting the sets.

“Karan is extremely pleased with the hard work and dedication that Katrina has shown to get her second quintessential item number after 'Sheila Ki Jawani' right. He feels that for a girl who till a few years back couldn't even speak the language and was hardly familiar with the texture and tonality of 'masala' films has now shown so much growth that she is doing 'seeti maar' numbers like 'Chikni Chameli',” says a source.
