Black or grey characters attract Shahrukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, the mega star poured his heart out as he came visiting Zee News office in Noida. In town to promote his upcoming film ‘Don 2: The Chase Begins’, SRK talked at length about films, politics and also about many unseen, unheard facets of himself - the screen icon, whom we all know as the Badshah of Bollywood.

Talking about his latest venture, ‘Don 2’, SRK said “Evil or devil, black or little grey characters, be it in books, stories, films or television, have some sort of an attraction. I started with theatre and there was nothing like a heroic character. There was a central character or an important character. I have played good and bad on stage. When I joined films I got a chance to play these characters again.”

Ruminating of the past he conceded that more than the villainous act he was more attracted to action oriented films in his younger days. He said the first film he saw was ‘Joshiley’ and he was too keen to be part of such movies which had explosive action stuff. Eventually, Yash Chopra saw a romantic hero in him and he was cast as a die-hard lover in ‘Dilwale Dulanhiya Le Jayenge’. What followed was an avalanche of Rahul and Raj kind of movies where SRK was established as an acclaimed actor in Bollywood.

On the issue of on corruption and red-tapism in India, Shah Rukh while addressing the media said, “The process to eradicate corruption is a must for everyone. This is a very important aspect, whether movement against corruption, act or a bill. It would be beneficial in the long term. I do not want to say anything on anybody.”
