Just yesterday we told you that Emraan Hashmi isn’t excited about doing the erotic thriller Jism 2 with Sunny Leone. He had said that he wants to try out different roles and one such role has now come his way. The actor will be seen tickling the funny bone in Rajkumar Gupta-directed film Ghanchakkar. Gupta, who has given hits like Aamir and No One Killed Jessica, has decided to make a light-hearted comedy, 'Ghanchakkar', in which Emraan essays the lead role.

“'Ghanchakkar' is one of the best scripts I have come across in recent times. It is commercial, edgy and very entertaining,” Emraan said in a statement. About the film, Gupta said, “It is a quasi-realistic urban comedy-thriller, highlighting the absurdity of certain real human situations.”

The film will be produced by UTV Motion Pictures, who have earlier produced both the films of Gupta. “We are thrilled about our third venture with Rajkumar Gupta. What makes the film even more exciting is that we will be working with Emraan Hashmi for the first time... He is one of the most bankable stars in recent times. He is playing a role that he has never essayed earlier,” UTV Motion Pictures CEO, Siddharth Roy Kapoor said.
