Deepika Padukone has been considered one of Bollywood’s foremost stunners. But the actress has been criticised for playing it a little too safe with her style quotient these days.

“It’s about time Deepika gave up the tied-back hair, nude make-up and peep toes for something more fresh,” a prominent fashion designer commented. “With a face like that and the best brands and stylists at her service, it’s unfortunate to see her looking oh-so-boring lately.”

Apparently, Dippy’s look has come under criticism because of what she’s sported during the Desi Boyz promotional events. Trade watchers felt there was a certain desperation as Dippy sported very similar outfits to the ones worn by her co-star Chitrangda.

“Beginning with the promotions in Jalandhar, both Dippy and Chitra have been sporting very similar outfits. First it was their traditional orange and white ensembles, then it was their shimmery black skirts and later, strappy minidresses,” a source connected to the film says. “It was clear that they were both trying to outshine the other.” Fashion experts say that Dippy now needs to find her fashion stride again. “She’s young and good-looking,” one stylist says. “So, why not sport something that’s edgy and pushes the envelope?”
