The much talked about movie Heroine went on floor on Saturday. The shooting began with a silent prayer for the victims of 26/11. Director Madhur Bhandarkar looked very happy starting off with the shoot after spending months working on the story and the technicalities of the movie.

“The first day at the shoot is always the feeler day. The bundled up energy that we all have is now going to be occupied in weaving together a story that we want our audiences to see. Heroine is a very contemporary subject of today's time. It has different premises and different strata that I am going to deal with here. This movie, like all my other movies, is a mix of facts and fiction. I am happy and looking forward to each day as it comes,” says Bhandarkar.

Seen on the sets was the main protagonist of the movie, Kareena Kapoor, who looked completely in her element for the role she plays. It was a very special day for Arjun Rampal, who plays the male lead in the movie. It was his birthday and everyone celebrated it on the sets by cutting a cake and singing for him.

“It is a special day indeed. Madhur is a dear friend and I am glad that we are finally working together. I am really looking forward to it,” says Arjun Rampal. Also seen on the sets was UTV Motion Pictures' Siddharth Roy Kapoor. “This is our second project with Madhur and we are always very happy to work with a filmmaker who knows what he is doing. Heroine is a brilliant story and I am sure that Madhur will execute it beautifully,” says Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
