Sunny Leone to star in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Murder 3'International porn star Sunny Leone's Bigg Boss ploy has worked. Barely a day old in the Bigg Boss 5 house and she has already bagged her first Bollywood project, which is no mean feat. The Bhatts, Mahesh and Mukesh, have zeroed in on Sunny as the heroine of Murder 3. The third film in the Murder series has been in the news ever since it was announced after Murder 2 became a huge hit earlier this year. However, the latest in the Murder series film will have an entirely new cast.

Emraan Hashmi, hero of the last two Murder flicks, makes way for Mahesh's son Rahul Bhatt. Contrary to speculations, Murder 2 heroine Jacqueline Fernandes won't be a part of the cast of the third franchise, despite drawing wolf whistles and claps with her sexy avatar in the last film. "The Bhatts plan to launch Rahul in a big way with Murder 3. So they felt a new girl would be ideal as his heroine in the film," a source said.

The Bhatts had earlier planned to launch a film starring Rahul and Sunny that was tentatively titled Blue Film. However, the plans fell through because Sunny was reportedly not very keen for a career in Hindi films at that point of time. "Things have changed since then and Sunny is serious about Bollywood now. In fact, she plans to use the Bigg Boss platform for an image makeover in a bid to popularise herself among the Indian audience," said the source.

The film will be directed by Mohit Suri, who also made the second film of the series. It is not clear yet if Murder 3 will rehash the basic idea of Blue Film or bank on an entirely different script. It also remains to be seen if the new film is an original story or the remake of some foreign flick. The first film starring Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat was a copy of the Hollywood hit, Unfaithful while Murder 2 rehashed a Korean hit called The Chaser.

Sources said the final cast and crew details of Murder 3 will be officially announced once the final script is in place. Incidentally, Rahul was a house inmate in the Bigg Boss house last year. He had agreed to be on the show to use the reality TV platform to clear his name after being linked to terrorist David Coleman Headley, who was allegedly involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Sunny, an Indo-Canadian of Punjabi lineage, was born Karen Malhotra. The 30-year-old had visited India a couple of times in the past and has admitted her love for Hindi films since childhood adding she always wanted to be a Bollywood star. The porn star happens to be a big fan of Bigg Boss 5 co-host Salman Khan and has said she would love to do a film with the superstar some day.
