Deepika has been approached by an Indian group for a motivational campaign for the London Olympics next year and at the same time, has been approached for becoming the face of badminton in India. A source from the group promoting the Olympics said: "When we are looking for a celebrity to promote sports, we need people to believe that if this person can achieve so much at such a young age so can we. In case of Deepika, she is a true achiever. She has achieved so much at such a young age. She is keen on giving her time to the motivational campaign that will be addressed to Indians so that we as a nation can win and achieve more at the Olympics.

Deepika's spokesperson has confirmed that she has been approached by the group. "In all the meetings, the board has been saying she is the only one they would like as she has a strong bond with sports and is an achiever herself," the spokesperson said.

Dips, for her part, said: "My first love continues to be sports and I would love to do any campaign that encourages people to take up sports in our country." Not many know that Deepika has been a state-level badminton player and even as everyone thought that she would follow in her father's footsteps, she chose to become an actor.
