IPL 2011: Kochi Tuskers Get Their Revenge over Delhi DaredevilsIPL 2011: Kochi Tuskers Get Their Revenge over Delhi Daredevils: It was just two days ago when Virender Sehwag seemed in sublime touch and was smashing the ball to all parts of the ground against Kochi at their home. That day it all went Delhi’s way but today was a different day and certainly not Delhi’s day for that matter. It was Kochi all the way from the beginning to the end and they reigned supreme by registering a thumping win against Delhi Daredevils.

Delhi Daredevils batted first but unlike the last match it was Jayawardene who won the toss and put them in. Virender Sehwag being batted well in the previous game was expected to come to the party once again but he got out early in the innings. It was a batting wicket but most Delhi players were struggling to make proper contact with the ball early in the innings.

Soon after Sehwag made the long walk back to the pavilion it was his opening partner David Warner
who scooped one straight to the hands of a fielder. Kochi was delighted after getting two big wickets
that have the capability to destroy any bowling line up. Naman Ojha fell cheap as well which stranded
Delhi at 40 odd runs for 3 wickets.

Delhi Daredevils certainly made a big mistake by not playing James Hopes as he is one player who
should have helped Delhi in reaching a respectable total. But it was not the case as the lone ranger
Venugopal tried his best to bail Delhi out of trouble but it was not the case as Delhi Daredevils finished
at 140 runs which was a below par score.

Kochi was confident going into bat with McCullum and Klinger looking good in the middle. But one thing
which cost Delhi the match in the first over was the amount of wides bowled by Irfan Pathan. In the very
next over it was McCullum who got on song and tried to smash each and every ball. But he really came
to his own when he smashed 23 runs off Umesh Yadav.

McCullum got out after scoring some brisk runs and putting Kochi well ahead of Delhi. Mahela
Jayawardene got out in a rather peculiar fashion which certainly sent jitters down the Kochi side but
Brad Hodge was the man who sealed it for them. Both teams needed a win desperately as both of them
are tottering in the bottom half of the points table. It will be great to see how they fair against rest of
the opponents in the coming matches.
