The Dirty Picture is being dubbed in Tamil and Telugu languages as well to target territories where it comes from. Vidya Balan's film The Dirty Picture has become the talk of the town. The actress has gone all out to redefine her girl-next-door image with a sexy and raunchy act in the film. Bollywood is keenly awaiting the film's release on December 2, 2011. But now even the South film industry will get to see a glimpse of the film.
The producers have decided to dub the film in Tamil and Telugu languages also. Vidya's character in the film is loosely modeled on the lines of South sex-symbol Silk Smitha. A source associated with the film says, "It makes sense to cater to the South audiences as well because Silk Smitha was a huge sensation in South Indian films. Perhaps they would be able to relate to the film more easily than the Bollywood belt". Also the fact that Vidya Balan is actually a South Indian could help.
If the buzz is to be believed, the film primarily has a South Indian setting with Naseeruddin Shah playing a larger-than-life superstar like in South Indian films. Also it's largely shot in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad.
