Eight channels from the Star India bouquet including Hindi flagship entertainment channel Star Plus and English entertainment channel Star World will air a new television show featuring Bollywood star Aamir Khan. The show, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, will mark the debut of the actor on television.
The unnamed show will start airing in early 2012, Khan said, addressing reporters at a press conference hosted with Star India CEO, Mr Uday Shankar. Without disclosing much about the show despite repeated queries, he said: “India is changing, and Indians want to see change, for the better. The new show will be a journey for me, and will tell the real stories of real people, capturing their real emotions.’’
The show is a product of discussions between Khan and Star India for three years. Mr Uday Shankar clarified that the show could not be closeted into any particular format. He said: “Indian television has done a lot of good work over the years that it has not been given due credit for. We believe this new show will take the legacy of Indian television even further, marrying responsibility with entertainment, innovatively.’’
