Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'godh bharai' was celebrated with several Bollywood beauties attending the ceremony at their residence in suburban Mumbai. The Bachchans hosted a grand ceremony yesterday for their daughter-in-law, where several star mothers including Sonali Bendre and Twinkle Khanna came in to shower their blessings.

Aishwarya's husband Abhishek, who was busy shooting for 'Bol Bachchan' in Jaipur, took a day off for the ceremony while his sister Shweta flew down from Delhi for the special event. But father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan was missing from the function as he is currently in Australia shooting for Hollywood film 'The Great Gatsby'.

Others who attended the ceremony included Asha Parekh, Saroj Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Manyata Dutt, Vaibhavi Merchant, Bipasha Basu, Urmila Matondkar and Shaina NC. "I went to give in my good wishes and blessings to Aishwarya and her family. It is lovely to see a glowing mother," Shaina told PTI.

Proud father-to-be Abhishek was overwhelmed with the blessings pouring in from all quarters for the baby. "Thank you so much for all the wishes for Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai. Read out some of your messages to her," Abhishek wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. "So after a day filled with tradition, Indian customs and LADIES It's back to work. Gotta start PLAYING again for PLAYERS!," he added. Aishwarya is due to give birth next month and the entire Bachchan family is excited about welcoming the new member.
