Dev Anand honoured with NDTV lifetime achievement awardHe has been in Bollywood for more than six decades now and delivered hits like 'Guide', 'Jewel Thief' and 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', and veteran actor Dev Anand has added yet another award to his collection of many. The 88-year-old, who received a lifetime achievement award from NDTV at a glittering ceremony on Tuesday, started his career in 1945 and got his first big break with 'Ziddi' in 1948 and never had to look back since then.

The evergreen star insisted that he doesn't remember much of his movies now, saying, “Whatever I say goes to the world and remains with them and I proceed.” "This award suddenly takes me back to 1945 -- when I got my first break, as a young leading man. I was very keen and passionate then and still I am.

“Its been more than six and a half decades since I started, I have seen generations and generations pass by and I have seen it all -- the love and affection I received from people, the criticisms of my work, but always took them in great spirit. “I have realised not everybody can like your work nor can everybody dislike it -- as long as you know your job. This award is for all those people who have encouraged me throughout the journey,” he added. Present at the awards function were actor-director Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koelchin, Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani -- the cast of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara' which won the entertaining movie of the year award.
