Buzz has it that Ranbir kapoor has replaced Shah Rukh Khan as the lead in the film being made based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘Two States’. It was reported earlier that the film was to be directed by talented filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, however there seems to be change of plans and now Karan Johar will be taking on the production department along with Nadiadwala.

Ranbir to replace SRK in ‘Two States’ movie

It was said that due to some reasons Bharadwaj put `Two States` on hold and instead started to work on a comedy, starring Ajay Devgn and Anushka Sharma in the lead. Following this Karan approached Sajid to co-produce the project. Apparently, this is the first time that the relationship between Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar went kaput with the latter opting for the youngistan dude Ranbir over SRK.

If all works as said, then this will be Ranbir`s second movie under Karan`s Dharma Productions after `Wake Up Sid`. `Two States` is about a love story between a Punjabi boy and Tamil girl. How they fight the odds and get married forms the crux of the story.
