“I'm a very secure person. I've always been told by people, 'You are a commercial hero, just go out there and your film will be a hit.' But I have always done one film a year because I feel that you need to put effort in your character in every film,” John told a news agency. John will be seen in the Nishikant Kamat-directed action flick Force on Friday. John worked on his body for eight months and gained a lot of weight for his role of a dutiful cop.

“For this film, I was very clear that I don't want to do cable action. I wanted to do real, raw action, something that Sylvester Stallone did in 'Rocky'. So I wanted to do that level of action and I wanted to look like him. That's what I concentrated on,” John added. John says a brawny body was needed to play the part of a cop.

“The important thing was that I needed to look the part of the cop I'm playing in 'Force'. Nishikanth briefed me saying, 'I want you to look like an international Hollywood star, like Stallone with a body that looks like a machine'.” John added. Force introduces newcomer Vidyut Jamwal as John’s foe. The movie stars Genelia D'Souza as John’s love interest.
