John gets cues from narcotics cop for ForceFor a long time, John Abraham has been on the lookout for an out-and-out action film that would fully exploit his macho image. So, when producer Vipul Shah offered him Force, the actor pounced at the offer and ensured that he went all out to get under the skin of his character, who is a tough narcotics officer. As a result, to essay the role of Yashvardhan, John spent about two months researching on the subject of drug dealings, the locations these activities take place at and how the legal system functions. He also personally met a senior narcotics officer (name withheld) who helped him prepare for the role.“From the start, John was very kicked about the film and wanted to learn how the system functions before he started shooting. He met an inspector, who really inspired him and gave him an insight into how drug dealings and other aspects function. For about a couple of months, he did nothing but study the system,” says a source.

When asked about his preparation, John insists that his role needed it. “I took some time out to actually see how things function at the core of the system,” he says, adding, “I have met some interesting people whose work is highly inspiring.” Force, directed by Nishikant Kamat, is a romantic-action film that revolves around a tough narcotics officer, who doesn’t play by the book but always ensures that justice is served. The film, a remake of Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha, stars Genelia D’Souza as John’s romantic interest. The original film starred Surya and Jyothika in lead roles.
