Rana Daggubatti, who became an overnight heartthrob with his Bollywood debut in Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum, sustained serious injuries while shooting for his second Hindi project, Ram Gopal Varma's Department recently. The actor tried to continue with the shoot even after he fell down once but ended up hurting himself again.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, " Rana was shooting for an action sequence in a steel factory. He first bruised his biceps because of a faulty harness. After first aid and a lot of makeup to camouflage the bruise, he continued to shoot for the same. Lady luck was surely not with him on the day.

A couple of hours later, Rana literally fell on his knees. While jumping over a few boxes, the actor stumbled to the floor. He landed on his knees. It was a really bad fall. Even the knee pads that he was wearing did not help much. He ended up cracking the pads and hurting his knees really bad."

"A doctor had to be summoned on the sets and the shoot had to be halted. Rana was rushed to Lilavati hospital where he had to be treated," added the source.

The shoot of Varma's Department has been on hold ever since. When contacted, Rana's spokesperson said, "Yes, there was a mishap on the sets of Department. Rana however, has received adequate treatment for the injury. He is doing much better now."
