The match between England and India on Sunday produced the 25th tie in ODIs – second between the two countries in last five games! These two teams were also involved in a thrilling tie at Bangalore in 2011 World Cup. India have now been involved in five ties - twice against Zimbabwe and England each and once against West Indies. On one occasion the scores were level (v Pakistan at Hyderabad in 1987), however India were declared winners on losing fewer wickets. Some of the other statistical highlights from the game on Sunday are as follow:

Yet another tied match for India and England

The partnership of 169 runs between Raina and Dhoni is India’s best for fifth-wicket against England. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 142 between Yurvaj Singh and Suresh Raina at Margao in 2005-06. * The above partnership also equals India’s highest partnership for any wicket against England in England. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid had added 169 for the fourth wicket at Chester-le-Street in 2002.

* Incidentally the previous highest record partnership for India at Lord’s was 131-run unbroken partnership between Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh also for the fifth wicket in 2002. * Suresh Raina (84) made his highest score against England, beating unbeaten 81 at Faridabad in 2006. * Incidentally Raina’s innings is the third highest by an Indian at Lord’s after Sourav Ganguly’s 90 in 2004 and Mohammad Kaif’s unbeaten 87 in 2002.

* This was Raina’s first fifty in 17 innings in 2011. * India (280-5) recorded their second highest total at Lord's - the highest remains 326 for eight against England in 2002. * Ravi Bopara (96) registered his highest ODI score, beating his 60 against South Africa at Chennai during 2011 World Cup. * The tie gave England inaccessible lead in the series. England have now beaten India in four consecutive bilateral series – by 4-3 in 2007, by 2-1 in 2004 and 2-0 in 1996.
