'Bodyguard' all set to be Salman's next blockbuster

Salman Khan's 'Bodyguard' is all set to take a bumper start at the box office, courtesy it's release mid-week i.e. today itself. The film was always planned for an Eid release and things have worked in the favour of the makers with 'Bodyguard' finding very good occupancy for itself due to it being a festive outing.

'Bodyguard' all set to be Salman's next blockbusterOf course there is one thing called as a 'Salman Khan wave' but then law of averages is bound to catch up with every actor. In case of Salman Khan though it seems like there is still some time to go before a dip in fortune indeed takes place because from the story perspective, 'Bodyguard' is the best that he has done since 'Wanted'. This is what should help the film gain further footfalls because there is a lot in it for ladies as well (due to the love story element) that should add on to the audience.

Let's talks about numbers now. The kind of hype that 'Bodyguard' has built and the euphoria it has managed to generate, it is more or less straight forward that the extended 9 day week should help it stretch towards the 100 crores mark. After all 'Dabangg' with it's 7 day week and lesser print count had managed to top the 80 crores mark. Improved market dynamics in the year gone by should help 'Bodyguard' gain further mileage. Even otherwise, 80 crores is the minimum for the film unless the word is mouth is average, something which should be out of question given the storyline's good acceptance down South.

As for the other three releases of the week, it would be a surprise if they manage to complete a week at the box office. 'Bol', a Pakistani film, would have to be content with good reviews and that's about it because a) there is competition from 'Bodyguard' and b) next week 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' should end up eating whatever little screen space is left.
