According to well-placed sources, filmmaker Pankaj Kapur, who was all set to launch the music from his directorial debut, Mausam – which features his son, Shahid and B-town beauty, Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles – in London this week, was forced to cancel it following the unrest in the city.
The decision to launch the music in London was taken because the movie was filmed there, and producers had planned to hold a special event in Hyde Park on India’s Independence Day on August 15, with an insider spilling, “Shahid and Sonam were even scheduled to perform at the function.”
The promo was Shahid’s idea, who’s currently in the UK shooting for Kunal Kohli’s next film, with a source revealing, “It made it easier for him to coordinate the music release.” However, the riots in London, following the police shooting of Mark Duggan last Thursday, forced producers to change their plans, with our mole insisting, “They just felt it wasn’t right to hold a celebration now” – and now the launch has shifted to India. Adding, “Shahid will put the plan in place as soon as he gets back to Mumbai.”
