Karan Johar recently met the actor for a narration of his much-talked about film. Ever since Hrithik Roshan exited Karan Johar's Shuddhi citing health concerns and Kareena Kapoor followed suit, Karan Johar has been frantically scouting for a new lead pair. Buzz is, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were the next choice for Karan Johar. Though Karan has never confirmed that he was even in talks with them, the twosome picked Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, also scheduled for a 2015 Christmas release, instead.
Now Mirror has learnt that around 10 days ago, Karan drove to Salman's Bandra residence with the script of Shuddhi. And the long meeting ended on a positive note. The industry has been abuzz with news of a Salman-Karan Johar collaboration for the past two weeks and a source close to the development said: "Salman loved the story but they have yet to discuss dates and money. Karan has wanted to cast Salman for years. It could finally happen. The modalities are being worked out now." Karan Johar almost exclusively worked with Shah Rukh Khan for years though Salman had made a special appearance in Karan's directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in '98. Karan chose not to reply to our text message.
