Salman Khan admitted that “Jai Ho” failed to do well in its first weekend as compared to his earlier movies, He said “Meri picchle filmo ke hisab se collection thoda kam hai”. And more importantly he was willing to take the blame, “If, god forbid, the film doesn’t pick up from Monday, I’ll take the blame on me,” Salman said. “If the collections are not good, it’s my fault that I failed to bring my fans inside theatres. While the “mouth publicity is good and response is phenomenal”, The actor was reportedly bewildered as to why his movie did not strike a chord with his fans. “Maybe because of the festive week or my fans don’t have the money to go to the theater,” he said.

Salman Khan even conceded that the music of the movie also failed to generate any interest. “We thought music will pick up, but only two songs did good,” According to a trade analyst, “On Friday, the occupancy was just 40 per cent and Saturday was 50 per cent. Sunday’s morning shows were around 80 per cent.” Directed by his younger brother Sohail Khan, “Jai Ho” also stars debutant Daisy Shah, Tabu and Danny Denzongpa. The movie which has heavy dose of action sequences and political drama is said to be quite similar to his previous movies “Dabangg”, “Wanted” and others. There are also reports that a certain section of a community in the country boycotted the movie after salman Khan met Narendra modi in Gujarat and praised his work.
