Daisy Shah, who makes her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in the Sohail Khan-directed Jai Ho, made her first public outing as she visited the sets of dance reality show Nach Baliye on Tuesday.
Dressed in a black anarkali suit, Daisy followed Salman on the show, where she was welcomed by the judges - actress Shilpa Shetty, film-maker Sajid Khan and choreographer Terence Lewis. Until now, Daisy has refrained from appearing in any of the promotional activities or trailer launch of the film. She first made an appearance on the popular reality show of Star Plus, where she danced and joked around with Salman. According to reports, Salman decided upon an appearance on Star channel as a platform to launch Daisy as he has inked a deal with the channel.
"The trailer of Jai Ho was first launched on Star channels. Similarly, Salman was keen to present his lead actress on a Star Network show," a source said. Mentored by Salman, Daisy earlier worked as a background dancer in choreographer Ganesh Acharya's team, and has also worked in a few southern films. Being a dancer herself, Daisy was charged up as she matched steps with Terence Lewis on the show. "I am quick to learn dance moves and enjoy doing complicated steps," Daisy said.
Salman pulled Shilpa's leg as the two recollected old times when they worked in films like Phir Milenge and Auzaar. Salman, being a reluctant dancer, agreed to dance as he realised that the audience and the contestants were way too eager to see him shake a leg. Being a sport, Sallu also agreed to enact the romantic moods from the mushy number Tere Naina from the film with Daisy. The song, shot in Romania, is one of the hit songs from the film. Since the film highlights the power of common man, Salman's promotional campaign is largely targeted at connecting with the aam admi.
