Born on January 1, 1978, daughter of veteran actor Tanuja and younger sister of superstar Kajol, Tanishaa Mukherji always wanted to be an actor. But blame it on her bad luck or lack of talent, her career didn’t take off. She was seen in films like Ssshhhh, Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao, Tango Charlie, One Two Three, Be Careful, Mukti, Unnale Unnale and Kantri, but she never really hit the headlines. Her actual claim to fame – such as it is – was with Neal N Nikki opposite Uday Chopra. She attracted a lot of attention thanks to the bikinis and micro-minis she wore in the film, but it crashed at box-office and failed to impress the critics. Her producer avatar showed its support for jijaji Ajay Devgn in Son of Sardar, but that was marred by the court battle with Yash Raj Films and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
As Tanishaa didn’t have a Bollywood career to boast of she decided to participate in the seventh season of India’s most controversial and high voltage reality show – Bigg Boss. As you know, her stint in that show was quite a controversial one. Apparently her closeness towards fellow contestant Armaan Kohli irked her family. However, the Mukherjees denied all such reports. After successfully staying in the Bigg Boss house for 105 days, Tich, as she is also known, bagged the first runner up position, while her fellow contestant Gauahar Khan emerged as the winner. According to predictions by our in-house tarot expert Shruti Chopra, 2014 is a strong year for Tanishaa. She will be involved in new work projects that will revive her Bollywood career. Her instincts will take over, helping her to choose wisely and be appreciated for the quality of work that she produces. And she owes a lot to Bigg Boss 7 for that, doesn’t she?
